What general-purpose HVAC can't do
Standard commercial systems are designed for comfort. Pharmaceutical facilities need something fundamentally different:
Close-tolerance temperature control. Drug storage, manufacturing processes and cold-chain logistics each have specific temperature bands. Deviation isn't a comfort issue — it's a product-integrity issue. Your system has to hold within specified limits continuously, not just on average across a shift.
Humidity management. Product stability, cleanroom performance and material handling all depend on humidity controlled within ±3% RH. Standard systems don't have the sensing, the response speed or the control resolution to deliver it.
Pressure cascading. Cleanrooms need controlled air quality with appropriate filtration, defined pressure differentials between zones and documented air-change rates. This isn't something you bolt onto an office system.
The audit trail. When the MHRA or FDA inspector asks for six months of environmental data, your system either produces it instantly or it doesn't — there's no middle ground. Our remote monitoring provides continuous logging with automated excursion alerts and compliance-ready reporting.
How we build for pharma
Every pharmaceutical installation starts with what the space must do — not what equipment to install. The regulatory framework (GMP, MHRA, FDA) defines the outcome; we design the system to deliver it.
Validated environmental control. Temperature, humidity, pressure differential and air-change rates — all designed to specification, all documented, all verifiable. Not estimated from a catalogue. Calculated for your facility with our advanced control systems.
Redundancy designed in, not added on. System failure in a pharmaceutical environment isn't an inconvenience — it's a compliance event. Our designs build in appropriate redundancy, so that when a component fails the environment stays within specification while the repair happens.
24/7 monitoring with automated alerts. Excursion detection, trend analysis and compliance reporting that runs continuously, so your quality team gets the data they need without chasing it.
Priority-response maintenance. Pharmaceutical facilities can't wait for a standard callout window — and our service contracts recognise that.
Who we've done this for
NHS Supply Chain distribution centres. Alliance Healthcare warehouses. AAH facilities. Pharmaceutical manufacturing sites. Medical-device production environments. We've been solving pharmaceutical HVAC problems across the UK for over 25 years.
