Defence

Defence estates run on documentation. Every system that goes into a defence facility has to arrive with its engineering evidenced — design calculations, commissioning data, maintenance records, accreditations that check out when procurement checks them. A contractor who can make a building comfortable but can't produce the paper trail is a risk, not a supplier. We've built our business on the opposite habit: design to a specification, verify against it, and hand over the evidence with the system.

Engineering discipline you can audit

Designed to specification, not adapted from a catalogue. Every system starts from what the space must do — the temperature band, the air distribution, the operating pattern — and the design is calculated for that facility. Our consultancy and design process produces the documentation alongside the system: heat-load calculations, system specifications, commissioning results.

Performance you can hold us to. We design to an agreed performance envelope and verify on site before handover — the approach set out on our compliance and temperature guarantee page. In an environment where every claim gets checked, we prefer claims that survive checking.

Accreditations that are actually held. Constructionline Gold, SafeContractor, SSIP, ISO 9001, Gas Safe and REFcom — the full list, with what each covers, is on our accreditations page. A dedicated health-and-safety department sits behind the certificates.

Reliability matched to what's at stake

Not every space in a defence facility carries the same criticality — and the engineering should reflect that. Many of our solutions carry additional capacity or backup, matched to the criticality of the system: where failure is an inconvenience, the design is lean; where failure is unacceptable, redundancy is designed in from the start, not bolted on after the first incident.

Our experience includes RAF aircraft hangars — buildings where the volumes are vast, the doors are the size of the wall, and the heating system has to work anyway. The physics of those spaces is covered in depth on our large venues and hangars page.

Supported for the life of the system

A defence installation is a long relationship, not a handover. Planned preventative maintenance keeps the system at its commissioned performance year after year, with quarterly inspections, annual service and records maintained throughout. The system you audit in year ten should perform like the one you accepted in year one.

Talk to an engineer

Send us the specification — or the problem, if the specification doesn't exist yet. We'll respond with engineering, not marketing. Call 0121 770 7466 or email sales@jetenvironmental.com.
