If you run an industrial facility, ESG stopped being a communications exercise some time ago. Energy is a line your finance director reads monthly, carbon is a number your customers now ask for, and refrigerants are regulated substances with a legal chain of custody. Every one of those pressures lands on the same place: the systems that heat, cool and move the air in your buildings. Which means every one of them is, at root, an engineering choice.

The all-electric transition, done the hard way

We've spent years moving our solutions from natural gas towards all-electric — and we'll be honest about it: that transition is hard, and it has taken persistence to sustain. Industrial heating loads are unforgiving, and an electric system that only works on paper helps nobody's carbon numbers.

The result of that persistence is that we can now put heat pump systems into large facilities with confidence — systems that deliver 30–50% lower heating costs than gas, with reduced carbon emissions. Even in frost protection, where a cold start is the worst operating condition a heat pump can face, we've worked through the design constraints and installed dependable systems throughout the UK and Ireland.

Decarbonisation isn't a pledge with a distant date on it. It's a design discipline, practised project by project.

The most efficient heat is the heat you already have

Our design teams work to minimise energy and refrigerant impact from the first drawing, because efficiency designed in costs nothing to run. Frost protection is the clearest example: rather than generating heat to hold a warehouse at or above 5°C, our approach circulates the heat the building already creates — internal heat gains, moved to where they're needed through nozzle air distribution. The system rarely needs to generate heat at all, which is about as efficient as heating gets.

Before we specify a single kilowatt, we ask what the building can do for free.

Efficient at handover is easy. Efficient in year nine is the job.

A system's environmental performance isn't fixed on commissioning day — it drifts, unless someone keeps it honest. That's why we prefer extended, consultative relationships over install-and-disappear: systems kept efficient over years through controls and component upgrades, informed by energy audits and reporting rather than guesswork.

The greenest system on your estate is the one still performing to its design figures a decade in.

The S and the G, briefly

Environmental engineering is where we make the most difference, but the rest of the acronym isn't decoration. We run a dedicated health and safety department — not a policy folder, a department — and the way we design, install and service is independently assessed rather than self-declared. Our refrigerant work is REFcom (F-Gas) certified and our gas work is Gas Safe registered, because both are legal requirements for this work, not optional badges. The full set is on our accreditations page.

Want numbers you can put in your own reporting, not ours? Start with an energy audit of what you're running now.
