The brief: efficient heating and cooling for a warehouse near Heathrow
AIT Worldwide is a global logistics and freight-forwarding provider and a JET partner for over ten years. At its Feltham warehouse, the second site AIT has trusted JET with, near Heathrow, JET was asked to design, supply and install a heating and ventilation system serving the 658 m² warehouse as a single turnkey package, from initial design through to commissioning.
- The warehouse needed conditioning to offset an infiltration allowance of 0.15 ach
- Internal temperatures had to be held between 15°C (winter) and 25°C (summer), against external design conditions of -5°C in winter and 34°C DB / 22°C WB in summer
- The design needed to reuse waste heat from lighting, MHE and occupancy gains to keep running costs down
- A simple control strategy was required, with no high-level maintenance burden
The solution: a single packaged heat pump AHU with balanced induction ductwork
JET designed a Balanced JET Air Induction System built around a single externally mounted packaged air-sourced heat pump AHU, combining R32 DX heating and cooling in one multi-circuit, multi-compressor unit, and distributing conditioned air through self-finished galvanised ductwork with self-balancing induction nozzles.
- 1 externally mounted Packaged Air Sourced Heat Pump AHU with multi-circuit R32 DX heating & cooling, fresh/return air damper and EC multi-fan section
- Ductwork enters the building at approx. 1.8m and rises to a high-level main, with nozzle branches serving the racking and open areas of the warehouse
- Balanced JET nozzles are self-balancing by design — no balancing dampers or extended commissioning time required
- Controlled by the AHU's onboard return air sensor, keeping the control strategy simple
A long-standing partnership: trusted with a second warehouse, built on more than ten years together
Feltham may not be the largest installation in JET's portfolio, but it is one of the most meaningful. It is the second warehouse AIT Worldwide has trusted JET to design, install and commission — the latest chapter in a partnership we have nurtured for over a decade.
That continued confidence is the real story here. The technical detail on this page matters, but it rests on something harder to specify: trust built project by project over more than ten years. We look forward to supporting AIT in the years ahead, and we hope to maintain this system for them too.
- 10+ years working in partnership with AIT Worldwide
- 2nd warehouse entrusted to JET to design, install and commission
What the system is designed to deliver
One system, whole warehouse
A single packaged heat pump AHU conditions the 658 m² warehouse, engineered around its infiltration allowance and load profile.
Waste heat reused
The design captures lighting, MHE and occupancy gains within the space, reducing the heating load the plant has to supply.
Self-balancing ductwork
Balanced JET induction nozzles remove the need for balancing dampers, reducing commissioning time on site.
Onboard return air control
The AHU is controlled by its own onboard return air sensor, keeping the control strategy simple.
